Anchorage resident Joshua Neal Weter, 21, died Sept. 22, 1995, at Elmendorf Air Force Base. A memorial service was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, downtown. His ashes were scattered over New Orleans at a later date.

Mr. Weter was born July 28, 1974, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Central High School in Rapid City, S.D., in 1992, and joined the Air Force in December of the same year. He moved to Alaska in 1994 and served as a computer display maintenance technician on board the E-3 AWACS. Mr. Weter loved the theater and wanted to go to film school and take up acting. The family said: ''Josh warmed the heart of everyone he met.''

Mr. Weter is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Anchorage; parents, Donald and Theressa Weter of Germany; brothers, Luke and Nick, both of Germany; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wendy and Kenneth Winchester of Cleveland; brother and sisters-in-law, Adam, Julia and Summer, all of Cleveland.
