Son of Former Huntsville Physician Was Killed In Auto Accident.

Funeral services for Hawkins Westmoreland, 22-year-old son of the late Dr. H.D. Westmoreland of Huntsville, who was killed in an automobile accident near Birmingham Wednesday night, were held from the residence of Mrs. Homer French, a cousin, in Athens, at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon, burial following in the Athens Cemetery.
The young man was a student at Vanderbilt University and was en route to Birmingham to attend the Alabama-Vanderbilt football game when the accident occurred. A woman, Mrs. A. O. Stewart, who was in the other automobile, was burned to death and her husband was critically hurt.
Westmoreland is well known in Huntsville having visited here on numerous occasions. He is survived by a sister, Miss Marie Westmoreland, of this city.
