GROOM - Carolyn West, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in McLean with Sam Line, minister of Church of Christ of Groom, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Carolyn was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Shamrock and was reared in McLean. She attended schools in McLean.
She married Robert West in 1955 in Pampa. She had been a resident of Groom since 1958.
Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Groom and a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed caring for others who were in need.
Survivors include her husband, Robert West; two daughters, Barbara Schulte and husband Olen of Nazareth and Victoria Strader of Dallas; four sons, Tommy West and Russell West, both of Lubbock, Allen West and wife Jan of Amarillo, and Eric West of Bossier, La.; two brothers, Harlan Pool Jr., of Houston and David Pool and wife Ellen of Amarillo; a sister, Alma Landcaster of Artesia, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association, 415 W. Eighth Ave., Suite 300, Amarillo, TX 79101.
