Maggie Daisy, 1947-2011
Mrs. Maggie L. Daisy, 64, of LaPorte, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at 11:22 p.m. at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, IN.
She was born April 6, 1947, in Guyan County, W VA, to Clarence and Jenny (West) West, and had lived in LaPorte since 1965, coming from Stockbridge, MI.
Mrs. Daisy was a press operator at American Rubber Company for 18 years. She was baptized, saved and was a child of God. She loved everyone and was selfless and a forgiving Christian woman.
On June 14, 1986, in LaPorte, she married John Daisy, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Gena (Eric) Blankenship of Kingsford Heights, IN, and Jane (Doug) Clemons and Jacquelyn (Justin) Lucas, both of LaPorte; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Eric Blankenship II; one brother, Boone; and three sisters, Mary, Mae and Ermie.
Funeral services will be held at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marty Ethridge officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
