Born Dec. 1, 1914 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William David Wesson and Maggie Grigg Wesson.
Mrs. Gettys was a homemaker and was a member of Free Saints Chapel in Cherryville.
Mrs. Gettys is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Stella Gettys, Charles and Judy Gettys and Roger and Teresa Gettys, all of Polkville; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleland Kuester Gettys; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Ervin Franklin; a brother, Ray Wesson; and three sisters, Eula Eskridge, Sue Whisnant and Vangie Norman.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Polkville Baptist Church with the Revs. Rick Hamrick and Dennis Bailey officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
