Birth: Jul. 19, 1735
Death: May 22, 1781
London, England

1st Earl Mornington, politician, composer. Born in Dangan, Eire, he was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, and later elected its first Professor of Music. In 1760, in recognition of his musical and philanthropic achievements, he was created Viscount Wellesley and Earl of Mornington. He married Anne Hill-Trevor, eldest daughter of Lord Dungannon, and they had several children - the most famous of whom, Arthur Wellesley, became the famed Duke of Wellington. Wesley moved his family to London so that his sons could attend Eton, and they were suffering from the expense when Wesley died at the age of 45. The family fortunes were revived by the successes of his offspring, four of whom were eventually awarded peerages.

May you rest in peace. You had a fine son and another famous descendant, Jeremy Clyde of the famed 1960s British duo, Chad and Jeremy.
