Delores E. Wendland, 87, of Rockwell City, died November 24, 2007 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center with her loving family by her side.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rockwell City with the Rev. David Splett officiating. Interment will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Delores Elma Campbell was born on October 1, 1920 in Gilmore City. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Henry Wendland on July 27, 1947 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rockwell City. The couple lived in Richards, Iowa until 1952 and moved to farm near Rockwell City.
Delores enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, needle work and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Deanna Belknap of Eldora, Joann (Dana) Weisenborn of Oswego, IL, Connie (Stan) Lumbra of Tucson, AZ, her sons Wally (Judy) Wendland of Fort Dodge, and Roger (Ruth) Wendland of Omaha, NE; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry on December 31, 1981, her father Mortie Campbell, her parents Ben and Anna (Melford) Hartman, her siblings Dwayne, Faye, Lyman, Marie, Harold, and Darlene, and son-in-law Francis Belknap.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
