Death of Mrs. Charles Butts
On Sunday evening, Nov. 25, 1888, Mrs. Butts, wife of Charles Butts, a farmer living about seven miles north west of the city, died of lockjaw.
On Monday the 19th inst., Mrs. Butts stepped upon a nail which penetrated the right foot. The wound gave her but little trouble until Friday, when she began to suffer much pain and continued to grow worse until death ensued as above stated although the best of medical aid was summoned.
Mrs. Butts was about 22 years of age and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Wemple, and was well known in the city.
Funeral services will take place tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock from the home of her parents, conducted by Rev. D. S. McCaslin. Interment in Riverside.
