Mrs. Jane Coffee died after two week's illness.
Mrs, Helen Jane Wemple Coffee, widow of the late William Coffee a pioneer resident of Howell Co. died at her home six miles east of West Plains last Friday morning at 5:30 o'clock after a two week illness due to complication of deseases. Mrs Coffees health had been failing for the past year, although her condition did not become critical until a few day before her death.
Mrs Coffee was born in Lansing, Mich. Nov 8, 1858. She came to Howell Co with her father Mindred Wemple in the year of 1874.
In June 1879 she was married to William T. Coffee. To this union five children were born, three of them still survive who are Mrs Geo West of Huntington Park, Calif, Miss Josie Coffee who resided with her Mother and one son Hubert Coffee of West Plains. A daughter Sadie, died at the age of three years and another daughter Mrs Fred Post died at Butterfield , MO. April of 1915. The father died seven years ago.
Funeral services were conducted at Langston Church Friday afternoon by Rev. K.L. Huckell, Pastor of the Baptist Church. Burial was made in Langston Cemetery.
