FRANKLIN WELTY, 20-year-old son of Mrs. Scott Welty, West South street, was fatally injured yesterday afternoon when a motorcycle operated by Harry Gosnell on which he was riding, was wrecked near Lewistwon. The motorcyle gave right of way to a passing automobile and moved to the side of the road. A fence rail passed through the spokes of the rear wheels, locking the machine. Both riders were thrown off. Welty was injured internally and was admitted to the Frederick City Hospital and died shortly before 10 o'clock.

Besides his mother, welty is survived by a twin brother, Hammond Welty.
