Oneida B. Eyler, 89, formerly of Littlestown, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Glade Valley Nursing Center, Walkersville.
Born Dec. 31, 1911 in Detour, she was the daughter of the late William and Nettie Clem Welty.
She retired from Jack Tar Sewing Factory in Littlestown, Pa., in 1984.
She was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church of Rocky Ridge, the Senior Citizens of Littlestown, Pa., and AARP of Hanover, Pa.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking for her large family. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower garden. When her eyesight was good, she liked to do embroidery and make quilts for her children.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Charles F. Jr. and Betty Eyler of Rocky Ridge, Richard and Gloria Eyler of Taneytown; daughters and sons-in-law Betty and Earl Lemmon of Westminster, Dorothy and Earl Ambrose of Rocky Ridge, Doris and Carroll Schildt of Frederick, Josephine and Richard Dinterman of Keymar; son Francis Eyler of Hanover, Pa.; two sisters-in-law; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers Edgar, Howard and James Welty; sisters Mary Hahn, Helen Poemroy, Hattie Welty, Frances Welty; one sister-in-law; and two grandsons.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, with her pastor, the Rev.. James Russell, officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Thurmont, as well as from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
