RITES ANNOUNCED FOR DEMMA ASHLEY
EDINBURG, June 16 -- Mrs. Demma Ashley, 79, died at 9 a.m. Friday at the home of a daughter, Lura Ashley, 1022 Park Avenue, Madison, following an eight year illness.
Funeral rites conducted by the Rev. Grover Myers will be held from the Apostolic Church at 2 p.m. Monday with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mutz Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Friends are invited to attend the rite.

Mrs. Ashley was born in Lucas, Iowa, July 4, 1875 the daughter of Hezzikiah and Sarah Anderson Wells. She was married January 9, 1895 to Samuel B. Ashley who died Feb. 29, 1936. Two brothers, two sisters and two daughters also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ashley spent most of her life in Edinburg until going to live with her daughter five years ago. She was a member of the Apostolic Church in Edinburg.
Surviving are three daughteres, Mrs. Goldie Reynolds of San Bernandino, Cal., Mrs. Esma Campbell of Edinburg, and Lura Ashley, of Madison; a son, Clarence Ashley of Edinburg; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Demma Ashley Dies At Madison
Mrs. Demma Ashley died Friday morning at the home of her daughter Lura Ashley, 1029 Park Avenue, Madison, Indiana, after an 8 year illness.
Mrs. Ashley was born in Lucas, Iowa, July 4, 1875 and was the daughter of Hezzekiah and Sarah Anderson Wells. She married Samuel B. Ashley Jan. 9, 1895 and he passed away Feb. 28, 1936. Two daughters, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
She spent most of her life in Edinburg but had lived with the daughter in Madison for the past five years. She was a member of the Apostolic Church.
Surviving are a son, Clarence Ashley, of Edinburg; three daughters, Mrs. Esma Campbell of Edinburg, Lura Ashley, of Madison, and Mrs. Goldie Reynolds of San Bernardino, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
