Eva, raised in Muscatine, Iowa, married Edward R. Ashton on April 20, 1935 at Rock Island, Illinois. They divorced in 1959 in Hartford County Connecticut.
She was a retiree of the Air and Space Industry. She was employed by Hamilton Standard, Division of United Technologies, Corp.
Survivors include: two sons, E. Richard Ashton (Olivia Ann) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; John David Ashton (Robin Lawson) of Fort Collins, Colorado; two daughters: Sharon Ann Ashton-Neill (Kenneth R.) of Great Falls, Montana and Linda Jean Ashton of Enfield, Connecticut; six grandchildren; Michael James, Michelle, Kimberly, Christopher, Jennifer and Michael Thomas; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Glenn L. Wells; and her former husband.
Visitation will be from 12 noon at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine, on Thursday, May 22, 2008. A gathering of friends and family will follow at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Mulberry Street, Muscatine.
