WARNOCK, PATRICIA "PAT" (WELLONS), 79, longtime Marblehead, MA, resident, died in her home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, December 16, 2006. She was the wife of the late Francis Edward Warnock Jr. Born in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Patricia Stuart Barbour Wellons and Benjamin Hardy Wellons Jr. She was predeceased by one son, David A. Warnock. She is survived by four children, Patricia S. Burke of Englewood, FL, Edward H. Warnock of Middleton, MA, Douglas W. Warnock of Marblehead, and Peter B. Warnock of Provincetown, MA. Grandchildren include Matthew W. Burke of Westford, and Susan and Lindsey Warnock of Middleton. Great- grandchildren are Jonathan Edward Burke and David James Burke. In addition, she has two surviving sisters, Margaret Wellons of Berkeley, CA, and Judith Whitehead of Zihuatanejo, Mexico. She was a champion for the elderly and was the first volunteer transportation coordinator for the Marblehead Senior Day Center. From there she went on to become chair of the Marblehead Council on Aging, president of North Shore Elder Services and founder and president of the Legislative Elders of the North Shore. As a descendent of James Barbour (friend of Thomas Jefferson and Governor of Virginia from 1812-1814), she came by her love of politics quite naturally. She served as member and chair of the Marblehead Republican Town Committee, was a member of the Executive Board of the citizens for Limited Taxation, first vice president of the Association of MA Republican Chairmen, Republican State Committeewoman, first Essex, and was employed as a constituent representative and Lynn office manager for former U.S. Congressman Peter G. Torkildsen until retirement. Arrangements are being made by the National Cremation Service in Quincy, MA, (617) 376-6300. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006 at St. Michael's Church, Pleasant St., Marblehead, MA. A private burial service will be held in Waterside Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may me made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250- 0301.
