Jean Broden, 80, of Springfield died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at her home. She was born June 7, 1925, in Princeton, N.C., the daughter of Wiley T. and Monte Blanche Baker Wellons. She married Donald D. "Don" Broden in 1945; he died in 2005.
Mrs. Broden was a homemaker and member of Cherry Hills Baptist Church and former member of Christian Women's Club.
Survivors: three daughters, Barbara (husband, Thomas) Phillips of West Des Moines, Iowa, Donna (husband, Michael) Layne of St. Paul, Ind., and Alice (husband, John) Jeisy of Strasburg; son, Ronald (wife, Kik) Broden of Honolulu; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Burdette Capps of Princeton, N.C.; two brothers, James W. Wellons of Charleston, S.C., and Nelson (wife, Margaret) Wellons of Winter Park, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Cherry Hills Baptist Church, the Rev. Steve Patzia officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.
