Maria Ann Clark Services Tuesday, Catholic Church
Services for Mrs. Maria Ann Clark were at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Victory Catholic church with Father Gerard Nathe in charge. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher funeral home in charge of arrangements. Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Clark died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Swansberger Nursing home in Guthrie. She had been in failing health for five years and was seriously ill two weeks.
Maria Ann Welch was born in Adair county, Mo., June 22, 1867. She was married to John C. Clark July 22, 1896. they moved to Carnegie Aug. 18, 1909, and lived here until December 1913, when they moved to a farm south of Mangum where they lived for 25 years before returning to Carnegie in 1938 to make their home. Mr. Clark died April 9, 1939.
Mrs. Clark was a member of Our Lady of Victory church and attended church until the first of the year.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gervasia Hilliary of this place and Mrs. R.E. Gardner of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Mrs. Roy L. Rodrick, Shawnee, and Gervasia Ann Hilliary, Carnegie, and one great grandson.
Relatives and friends from a distance here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Gardner, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rodrick, Shawnee; Mrs. Norma Meadows, Mangum; Mrs. Ed Hilliary, Mrs. Ernest Hilliary and Mrs. Charley Rowell, all of Medicine Park, and Dr. Carl Puckett and Mrs. Ethel Lonner, Oklahoma City.
