Marguerite L. Bergstrom, 99, of Adams, formerly of rural Austin, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Adams Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 16, 1904, in Arlington, Iowa, to Lloyd and Bertha (Boyer) Weiler. She graduated from Charles City High School.
On July 16, 1923, she married Rudolph Bergstrom at Fort Atkinson, Iowa. They lived in Charles City for three years until moving to the Rose Creek and Austin area. In 1940, they moved to a farm on Highway 56 south of Brownsdale. Marguerite moved to the Adams Health Care Center in January of this year.
Marguerite was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and was active in the ladies organization of the church. She enjoyed flower gardening and playing cards and games.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, LaVerne Bergstrom, Dexter; Donald and Shirley Bergstrom, Austin; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Nancy Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Shirley; and sister, Vivian.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Michael Omlsted and Robert A. Morgan officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
