After her marriage in 1941 to Fred J. Wehling, Jr., they settled in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and in 1957 became residents of Sandwich, where Fred was mayor from 1990-89. For many years, she was a DeKalb County election judge, an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Paul's Catholic Church, and the women's auxiliary at Sandwich Community Hospital. Her outgoing and caring spirit will be missed greatly by family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Edward (Ruth) of St. Charles and Kenneth of Sandwich and grandchildren, Julia Wehling of St. Louis and Mark Wehling of St. Charles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; a son, Fred J. Wehling III and a brother, Robert Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 18 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 110 North Eddy St. in Sandwich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church.
