Aliene Amy Adams, 74, of Long Creek died at her home Oct. 26.
A funeral service was held at the Long Creek Community Church with Pastor Steve Thatcher officiating, followed by interment at the Spray Cemetery with Pastor Dave Marques officiating.
Mrs. Adams was born on Sept. 29, 1930, to William and Lucille (Corrigan) Weems in Marcia, N. M. She started school in Morenci, Ariz., and at the age 10 moved to Winslow, Ariz. In 1947, they moved to John Day with Clyde Holliday Logging and resided in Mt. Vernon for two years before moving to Spray, where she met Logan Alex Adams. They married on Feb. 13, 1951, in Goldendale, Wash. They lived in Fossil until June of 1951 before moving to Spray. They then moved to Heppner. In 1971, Aliene and Alex moved their family to Long Creek where they put down their final roots.
She was involved in the Long Creek City Council for 16 years, was a member of Home Extension for 50 years, was active in the Long Creek Community Church and was a member of the local Bunko players. She was an avid Oregon Ducks and Portland Trailblazers fan.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years; two sons, Gary of Monument and Bill of Pendleton; one sister Betty Ledford of Prineville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Raymond Weems, Arthur Chester Weems and Johnny Bert Weems.
