Marian Davis, 98, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Home-view Healthcare in Franklin. She was a longtime resident of Franklin.
She was born June 3, 1910, in Bargersville to Homer S. and Pearl (Glassburn) Weddle. She married Ralph T. Davis on May 21, 1929.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Christiansen of Franklin; a granddaughter, Martha (Keith) Hauser of Greenwood; an adopted granddaughter, Patricia (Patrick) Barton of Peachtree City, Ga.; a sister, Delores Williamson of Pittsburg, Kan.; and three great-grandchildren, Leigh Anne Hauser, Matthew Hauser and Christian Hauser, all of Greenwood.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Ralph; a daughter, Barbara Lee Davis; two brothers, John David Weddle and Harold S. Weddle; and two sisters, Nelda Wimmer and Imogene Murt-Langer.
Marian was a nurse in obstetrics at Johnson Memorial Hospital from 1947 to 1965.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church from 1929, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 437, Alexander Hamilton Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Gleaners class of Grace United Methodist Church, North Walnut Street Club and the Johnson County Historical Society and was a charter member of Kappa Kappa Sigma.
She will be remembered for her keen sense of humor, her wonderful cooking, her generosity to all and, above all, her love of her family.
The Rev. John Elliott will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
