Ida Weddle, Death Victim
Mrs. Ida Gordon Weddle, age 74 years, died Sunday morning at 3:30 o'clock at the home of her son, L. Weddle, 357 College avenue. She had been in ill health for the last two years.
Born near Wheeler, Ind. on October 20, 1863, a daughter of William and Eliza Gordon, Porter county pioneers, Mrs. Weddle lived her entire life in this vicinity.
On October 24, 1883, she was married in Valparaiso to James Weddle, who died in April, 1923.
To this union were born eight children, of whom five survive as follows: Mrs. A. H. Baner, Lemuel Weddle and Brady Weddle, of Valparaiso; Mrs. W. E. Zerber of Stillwell, Ind.; and Howard Weddle, of Elgin, Ill. Children who preceded her in death were Leslie Weddle, Mrs. Ida Barkley and Mrs. Ethel Conkey.
Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church in this city, conducted by Rev. Robert L. Byerse. Burial will be in Kimball cemetery, north of the city.
Friends may call at the A. H. Bauer home, Route 2, until time of the services.
