Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, surrounded by her children. She was born on Jan. 20, 1928, and lived the greatest part of her remarkable life in Baton Rouge with her husband of 49 years, Harry J. Philips Sr., who preceded her in death, as did her parents, Stanford J. Weber Sr. and O'Deanna Granier Weber; sister, Ruby W. Mire; and an infant son. Mom is survived by four children, Harry J. "Skip" Philips Jr. and his wife, Colleen, Jody Philips Coco, Nancy Philips Davis and her husband, Steven R. Davis Sr., and Suzanne Philips Campbell and her husband, James Brent Campbell; nine grandchildren, Russell J. "Joey" Coco Jr. and his wife, Leslie, Jonathan M. Coco, Steven R. Davis Jr. and his wife, Adele, Elizabeth Davis Murrell and her husband, Andrew, Harry J. "Trey" Philips III, Tracy C. Philips, Kayla E. Campbell, Brent Michael Campbell and Phillip Curtis Campbell; and five great-grandchildren, Brennan H. Coco, Camille L. Coco, Kennedie L. Bordelon, Gabrielle A. Philips and Jaiden C. Philips. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth W. Candrea, of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Stanford J. Weber Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of LaPlace; together with cousins, including Kate Hymel, of Destrehan, and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew Murrell, Brendan Rush and Kyle Denison. Mom was a homemaker who, in addition to her being a loving mother to her children, opened her home to many other children whose lives she touched over the years. Visitation was at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 2121 N. Sherwood Forest Drive, on Thursday, April 9, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jack Nutter, a lifelong family friend. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a favorite charity.
