Mrs. Bersig was born on April 22, 1918, in Beer Creek, Pa., the daughter of Thomas Moran and Grace Newcomb Moran (John) Webber.
She married Joseph Henry Bersig on Jan. 1, 1949, in Teutopolis. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Joseph Kent (Mary Etta) Bersig of Indianapolis (formerly of Gifford); one daughter, Ruth Ann (Robert) Hall of Champaign; one sister, Ethel Grote of Lancaster, Calif.; four grandchildren, Donavan Wood of Urbana, Frank (Vanessa) Bersig of Louisville, Ky., Jenny (Paul) Edwards of Champaign and Amy (Bradley) Belcher of Nerstrand, Minn.; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Mrs. Bersig was retired from the University of Illinois Press where she was a proofreader.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Urbana.
