AMESBURY — Mary E. (Webb) Guilmette, age 83, of Amesbury, died Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving, supportive family.
Born in East Providence, R.I., March 11, 1926, she was the youngest of eight children of the late Thomas P. and Laura M. (Haskins) Webb.
Mrs. Guilmette was an active member of the Holy Family Parish, where she served as Eucharistic Minister, St. Ann's Sodality and the Funeral Collation Committee. Her dedication to her church was only surpassed by her dedication and devotion to her family.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Roland J. Guilmette, to whom she had been married 62 years; her seven children, Russell J. Guilmette and wife Julie of S. Hampton, Dennis J. Guilmette and wife Lisa of Salisbury, Roland J. Guilmette Jr. and wife Jodi of E.Kingston, N.H., Janet A. Bahl and husband Frank of Sudbury, Diane M. Calvo and husband Brian of Haverhill, Joyce M. Marroncelli and husband Steven of Methuen and Susan J. Matson and husband Matthew of Plaistow, N.H.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom are deeply saddened by her loss.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, will be Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services from the funeral home will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School St., Amesbury with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Amesbury. Donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimac Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 or to the Holy Family Parish Collation Committee, 6 Allen's Court, Amesbury, MA 01913.
