Alpha Webb DeHaven (97)
of Hillsville and Richmond passed away on February 10, 2012.
She was born in Carroll County to Nannie Salmons and James F. Webb on September 10, 1914.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
two sisters; Juanita Bishop and Esther Horton;
one brother, Ralph Webb and her husband W. Glenn DeHaven.
She is survived by a daughter and son in law - Elizabeth and James Branscome of Richmond,
two grandsons Lincoln Branscome of Richmond and Matthew Branscome of Brooklyn, NY; one granddaughter Kara and Jeff Rothman of Richmond; one great grandson, Ezra James Rothman of Richmond;
one brother Guy and Pat Sappenfield of Catlett, Va., several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She is remembered by many as a nurse, first at Waddell, and then Twin County hospitals. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hillsville.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady is serving the family.
