Margaret Webb McDowell, age 74, of Queentown Road, Canton, NC was born in Swain County, NC on Jul. 12, 1931 and passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Pardee Hospital.
A native of Swain County, she had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late James Daniel and Faye Plemmons Webb. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne McDowell who died in 1997; a daughter, Wayna McDowell, who died in 2002; and a sister, Mary Alice Yokeley. She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Maxwell Crouse Sunday-School Class, United Methodist Women, and Coordinator for Bereavement Meals. She was also past treasurer for Haywood Christian Ministries. She was a homemaker and an avid Democrat. She enjoyed traveling and loved her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Robin Henson, and husband, Wayne, of Clyde; Pam Rector and husband, Larry, of Etowah, and Wanda Marino and husband, Nick, of Wilmington; one sister, Patsy Pope, of Clyde; one brother, James Webb, and wife, Dottie, of CA; three granddaughters, Candie Sellers and husband, Mark, of Clyde, Shannon Putnam and husband, Trevor, of Canton, Tana Rogers and husband, Mark, of Etowah; one grandson, Ryan Rector and wife, Jodi, of Etowah; and three great granddaughters, Ella Rogers and Makenna Rector, both of Etowah, and Morgan Putnam, of Canton.
