Jack Earl Webb
(01 January 1926 - 26 May 2006)

WEBB CITY, Mo. Jack Earl Webb, age 80, of Webb City, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, following three years of ill health.

Mr. Webb was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Carterville, Mo., and had lived in the Webb City area most of his life.

He was a partner with his family in the Broadway Market in Webb City and later he and his brother owned the Webb Brothers Market at Zora and Rangeline.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Jack was a member of the Webb City American Legion Post 322 and the First Baptist Church of Webb City. He was an avid Webb City Cardinal fan.

He was married to Mary Lou Johnson on March 5, 1949. She survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Benjamin and husband, David, Olathe, Kan., and Debbie Lounis and husband, Elimo Tinker, of Carthage, Mo.; two sisters, Jessie Cooper, Carl Junction, Mo., and Helen Hancox, Fort Worth, Texas; a brother-in-law, Paul Pierce, Okay, Okla.; two granddaughters, Dawn Benjamin Hanley and husband, Mike, Edgerton, Kan., and Latoyia Lounis, Carthage, and her fiance, Mikey Robertson Jr., Webb City; and one great-grandson, Jake Hanley, Edgerton.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, including a twin brother, Gene P. Webb.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel. Rev. Ron Woody officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home in Webb City, Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home, of Webb City.
