Thomas E. Weaver, 72, 501 South St., Newry, died Wednesday afternoon, June 4. 1997, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness. He was born April 25, 1925, in Newry. the son of the late John D. and Verna (McIntyre) Weaver. He married Eunice G. Berkey June 30, 1951, in Newry.
Mr. Weaver was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry. He retired on disability from the A&P Warehouse in 1955. Mr. Weaver enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed John Wayne movies.
Surviving are his wife: five daughters: Cathy Mastropasqua and Julie, both of Duncansville, Suzanne Henry of Hollidaysburg, Amy Glass of Decatur, ILL., and Charlotte Lantz of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.: two sons: Thomas E. Jr. of Newry and Kevin J., at home: a brother, Paul of Claysburg; four sisters: Margaret Cassidy of Duncanville, Catherine Cross of Key West, Fla., twin Anna Jean Aungst of Hollidaysburg and Lois Leasure of Newry: 13 grandchildren: and a great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville.
WEAVER - The funeral of Thomas E. Weaver of 501 South St., Newry, will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, by the Rev. William A. Rosensteel, Interment at Newry Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville, where a wake service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
A brother, Donald., died in 1995.
