Born in Aiken County, Betty was a daughter of the late Edmond W. Weathersbee and Virgie Cowart Weathersbee Wells. She was a homemaker, married to the late Norman Lee Owens, Sr. and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Peggy McKinney, Dena Matthews, Brenda Heath, Alma Bodiford; son, O'Neal Hutto; sisters, Frances Kennedy Gleaton and Judy Phillips; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
