William H. "Bill" Weatherred Jr., 62, passed away at his home in Alamo, TN on Monday, August 10, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. A native of Memphis, Bill was a graduate of Memphis State University, receiving both a Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and was a charter member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. He was a senior research technologist for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for many years, and for the past 14 years he was a professor of anatomy and physiology at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. He also taught at Dyersburg State University. Bill served in the US Army from 1967-1969. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William H. Weatherred Sr., and is survived by his mother Yvonne Tucker Weatherred, his sisters Jan Weatherred and Susan Adkins, all of Memphis, two nephews Jay (Lesley) Adkins of Memphis and Bryant (Dawn) Adkins of Houston, TX and two great-nephews.
