CALVIN S. WEAKLEY DIES AT SHELBYVILLE
Was Banker and Confederate Veteran. Having Served Under Gen. Morgan.

Shelbyville, Ky., Aug. 14. - Calvin Simpson Weakley, 73 years old, president of the Shelby County Trust & Banking Company and Master Commissioner of the Shelby Circuit Court, died of Bright's diseaes at 9:45 o'clock this morning at the home of his son-in-law, Dr. Frank M. Beard, where he had been under treatment for several weeks.
During the Civil War he served in Col. Basil Duke's regiment of Gen. Morgan's command, and was captured in the Ohio raid. He was confined with the other prisoners taken at that time in the party which escaped. Later he was transferred to the prison camp at Fort Douglas, near Chicago, where he remained to the end of the war.
Mr. Weakley is survived by his wife, who was Miss Mary Elizabeth Middelton, and three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Millard, of Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Ben Lewis and Mrs. Frank M. Beard.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Baptist church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by the Rev. Dr. B. B. Bailey, of Arkadelphia, Ark., and the Rev. D. T. Foust. burial will be in Grove Hill cemetery with Masonic ceremonies conducted by Grand Master T. J. Adams.
