A graduate of the Corsica Union High School in 1944[Corsica,Jefferson County,Pennsylvania]. She was employed at the Sylvania Electric Plant in Brookville during World War II.
She was married on 18 December 1948 to Charles A. Burns.

Robert A. Burns,of Millville;
Patricia A. Burns of Cogan Station;
Shirley M. Keck of Bradford;
William Burns, deceased.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wellsboro; the Eastern Star in Franklin; and she served on the committee for the Corp Walk & the Wellsboro Food Pantry Board. She also helped open the Ames Department Store in Wellsboro.
A memorial service was held at the United Methodist Church where the Rev. Mark Shover officiated.
