A funeral mass for Mrs. Jennie Facile, 71, of Rt. 2, Montezuma, was held Friday morning, Oct. 19, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Brooklyn. Mrs. Facile died Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Grinnell General Hospital.
The Rev. Karl Holtkamp, pastor of St. Patrick's, was the celebrant of the mass. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn.
The daughter of Henry and Leonie VanDeVelde Wauters, she was born near Victor on Jan. 20, 1908. She attended St. John's Catholic School in Victor and a rural school. She was married to August Peter Facile on Feb. 20, 1928. They farmed for a few years in Minnesota, then near Brooklyn and later at Montezuma. Mrs. Facile was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Germaine) Schmidt of Grinnell, Mrs. Marvin (Mary) Van Gorp of Montezuma, Mrs. William (Delain) Yost of Laguna Hills, Calif. and Mrs. Donald (Alice) DeRycke of Belle Plaine; a son, Albert of Montezuma; three brothers, Albert Wauters of Brooklyn, Cyril Wauters and Morris Wauters, both of Elberon; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Alice) Rychnovsky of Diagonal, Mrs. Wilbur (Mary) Meyer of Blairstown and Mrs. Milo (Martha) Vavroch of Elberon; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Facile was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters.
