Zetta Watts Barnett Beard went to be with her Lord on August 22, 2011, at Windcrest Residential Home in Springdale, Arkansas.

She was born on November 23, 1925, in Bruno, Arkansas to Alfred and Nancy (Begley) Watts. She was married to Rev. Dale Barnett March 14, 1942, in Searcy County, until his death on November 21, 1981. In 1994 she married Carl Beard; he preceded her in death in 2004. As a housewife, she enjoyed time with her large family and many, many friends. She loved crafts, sewing, and creating ‘new recipes'. She attended Southern Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. As a partner in ministry with her husband, she served in numerous roles in their churches and communities. As many women of her generation, she was most comfortable in serving God and others from behind the scenes. Most of her life was spent in the Yellville-Harrison area. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two of her four siblings: Eula Mae Baker and William Watts. Zetta is survived by four daughters: Lou Wallace of Irving, Texas; JB (Joyce) Smith (Rick) of Lowell, Arkansas; JoAnn Trammell (Thomas G) of Irving, Texas; and Nancy Yarberry (Jim) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; two stepchildren: Betty Shultz (Don) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Duane Beard (Ellie) of Tajiskistan, Asia;

surviving siblings are: Dean Hill (David) of West Plains, Missouri; and Troy Watts (Becky) of Lawrence, Kansas.

Mrs. Beard is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren The family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received at Windcrest Residential Home and her many caregivers. They are also very thankful for the countless prayers, cards and visits during her three years there with Alzheimer's. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Arkansas immediately following the service. Estimated time for burial is 3:15-3:30 PM Saturday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to ‘The Rev. Dale Barnett Ministerial Scholarship' at Williams Baptist College, P.O. Box 3727, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476 (formerly Southern Baptist College).
