Services for Horace A. Watterson, age 83, whose concern constructed many of Cleveland's largest industrial plants in his general contracting career of 30 years, will be this afternoon at the Carnegie funeral home. He died Sunday at his home, 1870 E. 90th St.
A lifelong Clevelander, Mr. Watterson entered the constrution business as a youth. He headed the old J.A. Watterson & Sons Co. for many years and contructed plants for Thompson Products, Inc., the Co-operative Stove Co., and others. He also built the North Randall Race Track.
Mr.Watterson was a member of the old Gentlemen's Riding Club, a group to which belonged many of the city's social leaders. He also was a member of the Cleveland Athletic Club.
Surviving Mr. Watterson, who retired 25 years ago, are a sister, Mrs. Alice McKay and a grandson, Horace T. Watterson.
