The Monmouth Review has a mention about her death 22 March 1949. Mrs. Anna Watt of Alexis Passed Away at Noon Today. Mrs. Anna P. Watt of Alexis, widow of John P. Watt passed away here at 12:45 o'clock today in the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.M. Winbigler. She had been ill for several weeks. Funeral arrangements are being made at the Lugg Memorial Chapel. Will Bury Mrs. Watt Thursday To have been born here in Warren county more than 90 years ago and to have lived practically her whole life within a mile of her birthplace was the rare experience of Mrs. Annie P. Watt, the brief announcement of whose death shortly after noon yesterday was made in the Review Atlas last evening. She was the daughter of Robert Wray and Nancy (Robb) Porter and was born in the North County Line neighborhood, 1 November 1858. Her father was one of four brothers who came to Illinois from Pennsylvania, all of whom settled in the same community. She was the youngest and last survivor of a family of seven children. She was married on 2 February 1882 to John G. Watt who preceded her in death on 4 April 1923. Their four children all survive, Harold L. Watt of Glendale, California, Mrs. Mary N. Walker of Kewanee, Illinois, Wray G. Watt of Alexis and Mrs. Lucille Winbigler of Monmouth. There are twelve grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, and many other relatives. Mrs. Watt had been a member of the Norwood Presbyterian church for 78 years, being at the time of her passing the second oldest in years of service to that congregation. Until her health failed, she was a constant attendant at the services, for many years a teacher in the church school and was a charter member of the Women's Missionary Society. Her family and church were the centers of her interest but she had other relationships that she enjoyed to almost the very end of her life. She was a member of the Mildred Warner Washington Chapter of the D.A.R., an honorary member of the Mercer County Home Bureau and was also affiliated with the Alexis Women's Club. Early in her life she attended the Old Monmouth Academy for two years and later taught school. She was a member of the I.C. local sorority which later became Pi Beta Phi. During the years of her widowhood, Mrs. Watt continued to live at the home, her life being comforted by the devotion of her son Wray. After her health failed a number of months ago, she visited in the home of her daughter in Kewanee and in the Winbigler home in Monmouth. Funeral services will be held at the Norwood Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock Thrusday afternoon and interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church. An informal service will be held at the Lugg Memorial Chapel at 1 and the Reverend J.I. Young, pastor at Norwood will officiate. The casket will remain at the Chapel and members of the family will be present there from 7 to 9 o'clock Wednesday evening.
