William P. Watt, 86, of 111 Cedar St. died at 2:10 am Friday in his home following an extended illness. Born Oct. 4, 1882, in New Castle, he was a son of William P. and Anna McClure Watt.
For a number of years he worked in the tin mills of New Castle, then worked at the Eclipse Works of Atlantic Refining Co., the state Highways Department, and Joy Manufacturing Co. He was a member of the Franklin Free Methodist Church and had taught the Men's Bible Class for several years.
He married Ella Shawgo December 28, 1902, and she survives, with two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Snyder of Rocky Grove and Mrs. Mae Wheeler of Pittsburgh Road; four sons, Oliver L. of Meadville, George S. of Sharon, Clinton R. and Kenneth E. Watt, both of Franklin; 20 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Harry, Bert, Jim and Cal Watt preceded him in death.
Services will be at the Free Methodist Church with Rev. Adolph Steed, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery.
