David Jay Watson, 66, died at the Idaho State Veterans Home on Friday, March 8. He was born on Sept. 17, 1946 in Boise, to Jay and Evelyn Watson. He was diagnosed with a glioblastoma on December 15, 2012 and has been cared for at the ISVH since then.

Dave was proud of his service in the Army and served in Vietnam.

Dave attended schools in Boise and graduated from Boise State College (now BSU). His working life was in the car parts business from which he retired a year ago, and his great enjoyment was riding his Gold Wing motorcycles. He had many wonderful trips with his friends in the GW group and these many friends were so supportive during his illness. The family is so grateful to all of them.

Dave is survived by his two sisters and their husbands: Norene and Carl Schultz and Norma and Rick Richardson; nieces and nephews and one special niece, Dawn Bizallion, who was there nearly every day to visit.

Our thanks to the ISVH for their excellent care of Dave. The staff was so caring and thoughtful. Also thanks to the Treasure Valley Hospice who took care of Dave's needs during his last few weeks.

Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 14th at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise.

Arrangements are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

Dave was an animal lover, especially his two "pound puppies", so in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Idaho Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
