Arden Eugene Watson, 93, passed away in his home in Brigham City on Jan 7, 2008. He was born May 6, 1914 to Thomas Rowan Watson and Dorothy Skidmore in Lovell, WY. He grew up on their farm, the oldest of eight children. He is survived by two brothers, Richard of Lovell, and Dale of Nashville, TN and two sisters, Val Neville of Brigham City and Ester Waters of Murray, UT. He married Margretta Lamb in the Salt Lake Temple on Aug 4, 1936. They had five children, Gene (Linda) of So. Ogden, Joan (Neff) Smith of Albuquerque, Donna (Ray) Moon of Orem, Marlene (Rex) Lish of Columbus OH and Carol deceased (George) Welch of Murray, UT. Margretta died Aug 1, 1946. In Aug 1948 he married Thora Hatch Rollins. She had six children from a previous marriage. At the time of her death in Jan 1981, between the two of them they had over 100 descendants. In Aug 1981 he married Lillian Stuart Knudsen. Arden and Lillian got acquainted in the hospital in Brigham City as Lillian was sitting with her husband Glenn, who died of cancer and Arden was sitting with Thora, who died from a stroke. Lillian and Glenn had seven children. Lillian died Feb 16, 2006.
Dad was an excellent farmer and grew fantastic vegetable gardens. He loved to fish and became an expert at catching fish out of the Mantua reservoir on days when no one else could. He retired from Thiokol Chemical Corp, where he worked as a boiler fireman. He was an active High Priest in the Brigham City 13th Ward and served as a temple worker in the Ogden temple for 20 years. He invested in rental properties in Brigham City and had several rental units that kept him busy during his retirement years. In his late 80's he took up bowling again for exercise. After Lillian died Arden moved out of their assisted living apartment in Ogden and back into his home in Brigham City. The family would like to thank Christina Barrier for the excellent care she provided Arden in his home and Ali's Angels and the Legacy Health Care folks for the intensive care they provided Arden the last few weeks of his life.
