D. R. (Dan) Watson, 76-year-old resident of The Haven in Columbia Heights, died Saturday at the nursing home after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. John Gould, pastor of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial was made in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson under the direction of Riser and Son.

Survivors include one son, R. L. (Buddy) Watson of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Black of Minden and Mrs. Daisy Bass of Ida; three brothers, Houston Watson of Springhill, Ernest Watson of Paylor, Ark., and C. C. Watson of Vidalia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
