Mrs. Dessie Bonner Dies at Hospital

Mrs. Dessie Bonner, 58, who resided five miles northwest of Markle in Union Township, Huntington County, died at 4 p.m. Monday at the Wells County Hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital the past six weeks and had been in failing health approximately a year. Death was attributed to carcinoma.

Mrs. Bonner was born Sept. 26, 1897, in Huntington County to Isham and Sylvia Harshner Waters. Her marriage to Guy Bonner, who survives, took place Dec. 13, 1919, in Wells County.

A member of the Markle Methodist Church, she was also a member of the W.C.T.U.

Survivors include the husband; her mother; five sons, Emmett Bonner of Rock Creek Township, Huntington County, Carl Bonner, north of Markle, Leonard Bonner, in the Air Force at Fairbanks, Alaska, and Paul Frederick and Junior, at home; and four daughters, Mrs. Maxine Harmick, near Willshire, O., Mrs. Charlotte Kizer, south of Bluffton, Miss Eileen Bonner of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Alma Jean Culver of Rome, N.Y.

Also surviving are five brothers, Jasper Waters of Markle, Earl Waters of Huntington, Roy Waters of Lansing, Mich., Virgil Waters, near Bluffton, and Paul Waters of Fort Wayne, and 13 grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Funderburg Funeral Home at Markle where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening. At noon Wednesday it will be returned to the residence, with friends to call after 2 p.m.

The body will be taken at noon Thursday to the Markle Methodist Church for services at 2 p.m. Rev. Clark Meyers will officiate, assisted by Rev. Claude McCallister of Muncie, former pastor of the church. Burial will be in the Barnes Chapel Cemetery, west of Markle.
