Mrs. Luna (Waters) Halfaker, age 81, of Pittsboro, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Sparks, Thursday afternoon. She had been seriously ill only a few hours, suffering with heart trouble. Mrs. Halfaker was born and reared in that community. In 1896, she married Logan Halfaker who preceded her in May, 1932. She was a member of the Christian Church.
She is survived by one son, John, of Lizton and the daughter, Louise, of Pittsboro. She also had one sister, Mrs. Myrtie Payne of Crawfordsville. Also surviving is a niece, Mrs. Lucille Wood, Danville, and two nephews, Harold and Hollis Waters of Pittsboro.
Services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Gregory Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. James Shockley. Burial was the Sparks Cemetery northeast of Pittsboro.
