On December 20, 1975, she married Charles L. Doyle in Lewiston. The couple made their home in Lewiston where Elizabeth was employed as a registered nurse for several years. Eventually moving to Belfast, Elizabeth was employed with Waldo County General Hospital; and was once the Director of Nursing at Tall Pines Nursing Home as well as Bradbury. She also worked as a public health nurse in Belfast, and more recently she worked with Mid-Coast Medicine and Camden District Nursing Association.
As a teenager Elizabeth was active in Rainbow Girls. Her daughters said she loved reading, and was particularly interested in studying the Bible.
Predeceased by her husband in 1992 and her father in 2006, Elizabeth is survived by her mother Leona Waterman of Belfast; two daughters, Sarah Doyle, Jessica Rackliff and her husband Andrew all of Rockland, her sister Lucille Griffin and her husband Dale of Rockport, five grandchildren, Aubrey Doyle, Norah Doyle, Hope Doyle, Andrew Rackliff, Faith Rackliff all of Rockland; a special aunt Leatrice Burns of Union; nephews, Charles Griffin of Rockland, Christopher Griffin of Portland; a cousin Bruce Dodge of Braintree, Massachusetts; and a great-aunt Kathleen Dodge of Braintree, Massachusetts.
