Loye Philpott Roach of Charles Town, WV, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the age of 84. She was born October 27, 1930, in Cave Springs, Arkansas. She previously resided in Ashburn, VA and Falls Church, VA. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jay N Roach; her children, Alan Jeffrey Roach (Lyn Colenda) of Poolesville, MD, Resa Roach Potter (Patrick) of Vienna, VA, Jana Roach Bresson (Kenneth) of Warrenton, VA and and Evan Roach of Strasburg, VA; grandchildren Mikaela and Brenton Roach, Kara Cleland, Nathan (Sara), Terence (Manuela), Lucas and Jacob Potter, Andrew, Adam and Justin Bresson; great-grandson Cole Potter; and sister Clara McIntosh.
She was predeceased by her parents Guy Abram Philpott and Lula Mae White Philpott; her brothers Shirley Philpott, Elmo Philpott, William Philpott and her twin brother Roy Philpott.
Loye was raised in Cave Springs, Arkansas. She received her education at the one room Osage Valley School, Cave Springs High School, Bentonville High School and Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was a genealogist and family historian and a member of Columbia Baptist Church. Her activities and hobbies included camping, travel, teaching arts and crafts, designing clothes and toys under the label "Loye of Loudoun", Sunday School teacher, leader of various youth activities including 4-H Clubs of Loudoun and Campfire Girls, member of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, Loudoun Genealogy Club, Ladies Auxiliary of Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department and Farmwell Extension Club.
