A private family graveside service will be held at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota, Fla., on Jan. 5, 2011.
She was born on May 15, 1929, in Syracuse, N.Y., to George Washburne and Leona Johnson Washburne.
She was a successful mother and wife during the years of raising her children. Upon the death of her husband, James L. Perkins, she relocated to Brookhaven, from Sarasota.
In Brookhaven, she enjoyed a second career as secretary with Mullen Exploration for 17 years until her retirement in 2002.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Crozier and her husband Craig of Brookhaven, Jim Perkins and his wife Dee of Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Bob Perkins and his wife Pam of Montgomery, Ala. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
