Visitation for Elinor Warner, 87, of Manteno, formerly of Dolton, will be from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Manteno United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Harvey Gaither will officiate. Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. She died Saturday (May 18, 2013) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Brown Funeral Home, Manteno, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Warner was a homemaker. She was born May 27, 1925, in Chicago, the daughter of Raymond and Anna Stelleman Holden. Her husband, Richard C. Warner Sr., whom she married Sept. 7, 1946, in Harvey, preceded her in death Sept. 14, 2009. She enjoyed camping, fishing and her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Donna Warner, and Gerald and Constance Warner, both of Lynwood; four daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys and Joseph Bisso, of Hammond, Ind., Gail and David Ladislas, and Patricia and Robert Dodd, all of Manteno, and Cynthia and Ross Jansma, of Mokena; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Lisa Marie Ladislas; one sister, Ruth Jackson; and one brother, Raymond Holden.
