Etta May (Wood) Wardlaw, 68, of Eden, North Carolina, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was healed from cancer forever on May 5, 2007.
Family visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Dan River Wesleyan Church in Eden, North Carolina at 6:30pm with a memorial service following at 7:30pm. Interment will be at a later date in Fulton, Missouri.
Etta May was born to Raymond and Henrietta (Schmidt) Wood on June 9, 1938. She married Don L. Wardlow on March 8, 1957 and joyfully served as helpmate in ministry for thirty-five years. She lovingly served as homemaker, secretary and dorm parent throughout her life. She was a faithful member of Dan River Wesleyan Church in Eden and was the president of the Wesleyan Women Missionary Fellowship.
Etta May is preceeded in death by her parents, Raymond and Henrietta Wood, her husband, Reverend Don L. Wardlow.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Tim) Butcher of Eden, Dale Wardlow of Paris, France, Donna (Sam) Stovall of Milan, New York, Brian (Diana) Wardlow of Springfield, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Eric Butcher, Nikki Stovall, Brian Wardlaw 11, Crystal Wardlow, Justin Stovall, Aaron Wardlaw and Abby Butcher. She was an adopted "Mimi" to Maggie and Avery Hester.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to Heather, Stephanie and Valerie with Hospice of Rockingham County and to Dr. Karb for the special care and attention they gave her during her illness.
Memorial contributions may be made in liew of flowers to Dan River Wesleyan Church or Hospice of Rockingham County.
