Born on the 17th day of August 1857, David Andrew Wardlaw was the third son of David Moore Wardlaw and the former Miss Elizabeth Jane Paul of Cedar Springs in Abbeville County, South Carolina.
Around 1889, David Wardlaw married Miss Sallie Burnett, daughter of Hezekiah Burnett and the former Martha Virginia Shadrack; with whom he had two children:
Edna Wardlaw {Adams} (1891-1968)
Charlie Burnett Wardlaw (1893-1894)
David Andrew Wardlaw departed this life at the home of his daughter, Edna Adams in Abbeville at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 18 days. He was laid to rest near his parents and beloved wife, Sallie, in the churchyard cemetery at Sharon United Methodist.
