Lucas William Ward, age 33, of Almo, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Lucas was born Oct. 22, 1981 in Brigham City, Utah, the son of Clark William and Sara Jane Ward. He graduated from Raft River High School and then worked for the BLM in their fire crew division. He later worked in Ohio as a pit crewman for Sprint Car drivers.

He married Chalét Ann Chavez on Dec. 31, 2007 in Burley. Following their marriage, Lucas has been the owner/operator of Lucas Ward Drilling.

He was a member of the LDS Church and served as elders quorum instructor, was an Eagle Scout, and worked as a 4-H leader.

Lucas enjoyed motorcycle riding, snowmobiling, and hunting. He especially enjoyed time re-building engines. However, most important to Lucas was his family. He loved his wife and children and had a special relationship with his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Chalét Ward; his children, Quintin, Kai, Gemma, Sophie and Mia; his parents, Clark and Sara Jane Ward; a brother, Austin (Laura) Ward; and a sister, Keely (Casey) Richman.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Almo LDS Church, with Bishop Jason Tracy officiating. Burial will be in the Sunny Cedar Rest Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
