Helen A. (Warchol) Kacin-Beaudoin, 93, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, (May 13, 2011).
She was born in New Britain, daughter to the late Ignatio and Carolina (Moskowska) Warchol. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Kacin. Helen was raised in Hartford. She moved to Poland for several years as a child, later returning to Connecticut. She met her future husband, Anthony, at a dance, and married him in 1943. They resided in East Hartford where they raised their family. Helen worked all her life, but always placed her family first. She was a warm, caring, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved to cook for her family, and supported them in every way. Helen was lovingly known to her grandchildren as Gram and Nana. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Barbara Moreau and her husband Donald of Niantic, Carol Beyerly and her husband William of Marlborough, her son, Gary Kacin and his wife Lesleigh of Australia; her sister, Lillian Montgomery of Colorado; her grandchildren, Jay, Debra, Julie, Mark, Amy, Kevin, Christopher and Samantha; her 11 great grandchildren, and her close and special friend of over 20 years, Ted Zajack. She is predeceased by her husbands, Anthony Kacin and Arthur Beaudoin.
Special thanks to Jadwiga and Masonicare Hospice for their excellent care of mom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 10 a.m., at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Friends can meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 17, 5-7 p.m. at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford.
